Congratulations! You are visiting the Electric Yeti official website in what has been declared the Year of the Yeti.
2003 marked the establishment of the Electric Yeti Literary Journal, and now, in 2005, we are very excited at the opportunity to continue
to promote talented writers and their works.
Breaking news:
The Electric Yeti is now stepping out of the
ether and into the heady and breathtaking world of the printed word. We
invite you to throw on your safari hats, fully inflate your water wings, sharpen
your wit, and join us on this great adventure.
The Current Theme: Holiday
Deadline for receipt of submissions (for the November/December issue): November 10, 2005
What we'd love to see: Fiction; poetry; any writing that fits the current theme and the Yeti tone. Photos. Personal stories of success or other good news (we love that!). Sketches; paintings; comics. Art.
The word limit: Negotiable. Whatever length best fits the piece. If you like it, if you think we'd like it, then submit it. (Please note: We do not accept website links as submissions.)
Art & photography parameters: Any visual submissions will be published in black and white, at a size of 5"x8" (or smaller). Gif or jpg format highly preferred. We're looking for whatever touches upon or somehow illuminates the current theme. If you like it, if you think we'd like it, then submit it.
Compensation: Someday, we hope to be able to pay contributing Yeti artists. For now, we do not offer any financial compensation. However, you will, if published, most certainly enjoy the unbeatable, tingling thrill of ecstasy that comes with being an established Yeti contributor. And in gratitude for your efforts and contributions, we will make our best effort to respond, at least briefly, to each submission.
Reading Fee: None.
Rights: You own the copyright to your work. You grant the Electric Yeti the right to publish your work as part of a collection, in book and e-book form, and to offer these books for sale to the public. You also grant the Electric Yeti the right to use excerpts of your work in advertising materials, online and in print, without additional notification. Recognition will be given to each published contributor: Names will be named (pseudonyms allowed!), and optional bios with web links will be posted online.
Dress code: Bathrobe and slippers (fuzzy required).
